Rebirth
4 artworks
Out of the ashes rises the Phoenix, an ancient mythological story that launches the bird always towards the sun to be reborn every 500 years. In this rendition the Phoenix as winged woman, the sun emits rays that transcend our oceans in medusa-like tentacles superimposed by a lotus flower. Celtic infinity knots connect the freed queen to her Epicurus side with a tribute to Bacchus. A catty eye within the flame is all-seeing.

The beginning of a style that has eluded me for years, a loose, more expressive approach, alive, vibrant and and radiant.

Classically Inspered

An interplay of ancient iconic figures, symbols, styles and motifs interwoven by time, culture and beliefs.
The work ultimately represents the good and the bad, the rise and fall, the subsequent corruption, then decay of civilizations, with subtle hints at political powers juxtaposed on core symbolisms — just ask relevant today.

From the realm of thought and immaterial sensations and impressions.
Much of my work goes in to illustrating concrete, figures or ideas. In the midst of creating these ideas on paper, canvas, in the form of sculpture or mosaic, there lies an outer vision requiring further refinement into abstract formulations. This series represents just that.
Abstract Figurative

In a true spiritual moment, internationally acclaimed Venezuelan artist Pablo Bobbio, came into my life and helped me return to her art. Through his teaching I learned a technique to blindly create on paper, extracting and transforming serendipitous images into abstract shapes.
This series is made of of studies on paper which are later enlarged and painted onto canvas. Textures are added to the jute in layers of sand, gesso paste and concrete with acrylic glazes.
